Journalism professor speaks on Italian-Irish relations

Paul Moses, professor of journalism at Brooklyn College, will discuss his book "An Unlikely Union, the Love-Hate Story of New York's Irish and Italians" when he speaks at a meeting of the Bay Ridge Historical Society on March 16. Moses, a former city editor at Newsday, will be the guest speaker at the meeting, set to take place at the Shore Hill Community Room, 9000 Shore Road, at 7:30 p.m. New York State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Schack will be the guest speaker at the society's April 20 meeting at Shore Hill.

Schack, who served as a lawyer for the Major League Baseball Players Association for 16 years prior to becoming a judge, will speak about the reserve clause and free agency. In an email to members, Historical Society President Tom McCarthy described Moses and Schack as "two fantastic speakers."
