I'm writing this column while visiting Italy for the annual Vinitaly wine trade show held in Verona. I took some time to visit Piedmont, one of the world's most prestigious winemaking regions to connect with some of the producers who source the wines we procure for Nebraska wine lovers.
The land, climate, altitude and winemaking history of Piedmont make it an ideal place to produce high-quality wines. Combined with the passion the people here have for locally produced and exquisitely made food (the slow food movement was born here), this is one of the best places in the world to expand your palate in multiple areas.
