If you hold the stereotype that a very good restaurant cannot be located in a staid office park, Luca West will change your mind. Luca and Lola Sema opened the western outpost of Cleveland's Luca Italian Cuisine late last year on busy Detroit Road in Westlake. Sequels in movies and restaurants are not sure bets, but the suburban location is humming along well from its preparation to menu to service.
There's a nice energy in this space with sculptures overlooking couples, business folks and others out for a night. Service - that old bugaboo and challenge at many places these days - was fantastic, from our hustling waitress Patty to our gregarious pal Fatos. The bread - baked fresh and served warm alongside a small pool of olive oil and garlic - is more than a nosh and tough to resist piece after piece.
