“We don’t sell products, we sell life projects.” That’s the powerful message of Luciana Delle Donne, a passionate and visionary woman from Lecce in southern Italy. After a successful 20-year career in finance—where she helped create Italy’s first online bank and specialized in change management and innovation—Luciana decided to give back. In 2006, she left the corporate world to create Made in Carcere, a social enterprise with a transformative mission: turning social disadvantage into opportunity.
Made in Carcere provides incarcerated women the chance to work, learn new skills, and earn an income while serving their sentence. Using discarded and surplus fabrics from textile companies, they create accessories like bags, aprons, bracelets, and even branded items for supermarkets, conferences, and events.
