On the occasion of the National Day of Italy 2019, the Embassy in Washington D.C. inaugurated the exhibition “Marine Art”, with works by Lorenzo Mariotti.
Lorenzo Mariotti “Pittore Benemerito di Marina” (“Naval Artist”) specializes in naval subjects, including FREMM multi-role frigates and destroyers, in particular the “Alpino” and the “Carabiniere”, which were among the first ships built by Fincantieri for the Italian Navy after the war, and which entered service in the late 1960s. The prints on display are reproductions of works currently on board those frigates.
