Little Italy Endicott will hold a masquerade ball fundraiser Saturday, a nod to the annual carnival held in Venice, Italy. From 6-10 p.m. at the Sons of Italy on Odell Avenue in Endicott, guests will experience the Carnivale di Venezia Masquerade Ball, with Italian specialty foods and drinks.
Guests are asked to wear cocktail attire. Masks are encouraged but not required. In Venice, the annual carnival is known for its elaborate masks and ends with a flourish on Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras, as a final celebration before the Christian observation of Lent begins. Music performances will be provided by Sabor Latino, a Latin-inspired band event organizers say "has a few Italian tunes up their sleeves."
