
Milan is like an onion, the more layers you peel back the more there is to discover. It's a normal part of everyday life in Italy that routine digging work can reveal significant discoveries on every street corner.
So when workers discovered ancient walls of a medieval city going back to 16th century, some may be as old as the 13th century, it hardly came as a surprise. Work is suspended until experts have the time to properly assess the site.
