Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino will be honored at the upcoming Ischia Global Film & Music Festival on July 12 with the festival’s Regina Isabella Global Award. Following her award presentation, the festival will screen Scott Waugh’s 6 Below, a new film starring Sorvino and Josh Hartnett as former Olympic hockey star Eric LeMarque, who gets lost in the wilderness after an adrenaline-seeking snowboarding trip.
Sorvino's career spans comedy and drama with hit films including Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion and Summer of Sam. She is best known for her role as a kindhearted porn star and hooker in Woody Allen’s Mighty Aphrodite (1995), a role that earned her an Academy Award for best supporting actress. Sorvino has appeared in more than 60 films and TV shows and has earned Emmy, BAFTA, SAG and Golden Globe nominations for her diverse body of work.
