Amedeo Clemente Modigliani was an Italian artist who worked mainly in France. Primarily a figurative artist, he became known for paintings and sculptures in a modern style characterized by mask-like faces and elongation of form. He became the epitome of the tragic artist, creating a posthumous legend almost as well-known as that of Vincent Van Gogh. Light reception will precede the lecture at 6:30 pm. Lecture begins promptly at 7:00 pm. Must register in advance and prepay.
