The group that has been fighting to save Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church from demolition postponed an appearance it was to make before the Historical Commission Thursday night, when it was to make its case for a study committee to look into the creation of a local historic district in the area of the former church.
In an email sent out Thursday morning, Mauro DePasquale, president of the Mount Carmel Preservation Society, said his group has asked the Historical Commission to reschedule hearing its request to a later date. “After discussions with our board and much prayer, we decided to postpone our appearance before the Historical Commission,” Mr. DePasquale wrote.
