Because of a new districting plan in effect, roughly half of Poway voters will select two City Council members in the Nov. 6 general election. Incumbent John Mullin is being challenged by Joe Calabrese in District 3. The district takes in the western-central portion of the city.
All city voters will select a mayor and someone to fill the remaining two years of retired Councilman Jim Cunningham’s at-large seat. Voters in Districts 2 and 4, encompassing the northern, eastern and southern parts of the city, will select council members in two years.
