Since June 2025, Neos has successfully launched a weekly nonstop route between Bari and New York – a strategic milestone that underscores Puglia’s growing global appeal. Operated using a sleek Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner outfitted with 355 seats across both Premium and Economy classes, the service has delivered impressive performance with load factors exceeding 90 percent – and in some cases, spiking to 94 percent.

The flight departs from JFK in New York every Tuesday afternoon and touches down in Bari early Wednesday, offering travelers the flexibility to enjoy week-long or extended holiday options. Departures from Bari back to New York leave later Wednesday morning, completing the round-trip connection with ease.

Buoyed by growing demand, airport authorities and Neos are now gearing up to double the frequency beginning April 2026 – potentially operating flights both on Wednesdays and Fridays. This expansion aims to provide even greater flexibility, especially for those looking to linger longer or tailor their stays to ten days or so.

Looking beyond schedules, the move signals a broader push to attract more American visitors to discover Puglia’s rich cultural heritage, vibrant landscapes, and culinary treasures. The region is ramping up its promotional efforts, planning to host U.S. tour operators and agents this upcoming October for immersive familiarization tours showcasing its historic sites, scenery, wine, food, and hospitality.

For Neos, this new transatlantic route is also a commitment – to transport over 12,000 travelers in its first year, enhancing ties between Italy and the U.S. by servicing both leisure and business segments. It builds on previous successes such as flights linking Sicily to the U.S., positioning Bari and Puglia as prominent players in Neos’s expanding international network.

Above all, this initiative confirms that a direct intercontinental link from Bari can thrive – and with high occupancy numbers and growing demand, the Puglia–New York route is taking flight in a big way.
