Gucci has been having one big moment since Alessandro Michele took over creative direction in 2015. Now, a new Gucci boutique has opened in The Houston Galleria. The new renovated 4,100-square-foot space is located on the Neiman Marcus side of The Galleria. It houses men’s and women’s shoes, handbags, luggage, home decor, jewelry, watches, accessories, and select men’s ready-to-wear.
In keeping with the house’s history, travel is an integral theme of the store’s design, especially references to luggage — and one storied trunk in particular. Traditional and modern elements contrast with industrial romantic: marble polychrome inlays are integrated into cement floors and metal plates are burnished with geometric patterns. The cherry-red and peacock-blue carpets, peacock-blue velvet, and pink matelassé upholstery, layered with vintage oriental rugs and sumptuous chairs make the luxurious store unmistakably Alessandro Michele‘s Gucci.
