Norwich's Italian immigrants honored in ceremony

The names of 400 Italians who settled in and helped shape the city of Norwich are inscribed in the Christopher Columbus monument on the Chelsea Parade across from Norwich Free Academy.

The monument, and the people, were honored as Italians of the Year on Sunday by many of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren during a special ceremony to tie in with Columbus Day observances.
