Mangia! The wait is over - Violante's is open on Franklin Ave, Nutley. Violante's made a name for themselves serving families in the south end of Bloomfield since 1969. Officially called 'Violante's Meat Market,' the business was also an Italian Specialty Store and caterer. Flash forward a few decades and the original business found itself having to experience its own renaissance.
When Vitiello's retired and the bakery closed, many interested in the local food scene wondered what could possible fill the void after the final baguette was sold. The owners of Violante's saw an opportunity in Nutley. With a prominent retail space on a major intersection, commercial ovens on the second floor, and parking, it was a no-brainer. Nutley itself was, and remains, in a renaissance of its own with families and new locally owned businesses choosing the township.
