The inside cover of "'O Soul Mio" proclaims, "Siamo in missione per conto di Dio." They may not literally be on mission from God, but the members of Associazione Blues for People are definitely hell-bent on bringing music in the Blues Brothers tradition to their native Italy.
Led by original Blues Brothers band member Lou "Blue Lou" Marini, this CD takes Italian folk songs from across the boot and re-arranges them in a jump style that mixes liberal doses of Louis Prima with a dash of R&B and lounge.
