It's a near-100-degree Monday afternoon, and staff members of Muncie's newest fine-dining restaurant are scurrying to bring coolers of wine indoors to keep them chilled. The wines will be sampled by Yorktown residents Daniel Stackpoole and Summer Hellis, who own the new 21-and-over wine bar and Italian eatery, osteria32. But these tastings are not for leisure. It's all business as the two restaurant owners look to add at least one or two wines to their menu that already holds more than 24 selections.
Stackpoole squints his eyes carefully as he examines a small pour of pinot noir. He pinches his glass by the stem and swirls the liquid. Then, he takes a sip. He pauses for a moment to appreciate the flavor. "This is great," he said, then reaching over for the taglieri — cured meats and cheeses served with fig preserves and bread. He picks up a piece of blue cheese and says it makes for a great pairing.
