As part of the PBS American Portrait Series, WNED PBS is taking some of the stories from our Making Buffalo Home project and both preparing them for a national audience while featuring them on WBFO. You can hear the segments every Monday morning for the next several weeks.
As a first-generation Italian American, Joe Di Leo shares the story of his family’s beginnings in Buffalo, NY. Today he and many of his friends devote their time to helping Buffalo’s newest immigrants establish their first homes in America. They raise money so that furniture, toys for kids, and even scholarships can be available for those in need.
