Piedmont will be in Michigan, USA, for a mission culminating in the second edition of the VTM Michigan Business Convention, taking place April 23–24, in Pontiac. The goal is to strengthen the ties between the two regions' economies, both of which are deeply connected to the automotive and transportation sectors, by showcasing Piedmont’s broad and specialized offerings—including through the recently established Vehicle Valley.
The institutional delegation from the Piemonte System will be led by Andrea Tronzano, Regional Minister for Economic Development of Piedmont, and Michela Favaro, Deputy Mayor of Turin. They will have the opportunity to meet with executives from Michigan’s most prominent manufacturing companies.
The delegation also includes Stefano Geuna, Rector of the University of Turin; Monica Mailander, President of Vehicle Valley; Stefano Nigro, Director of Ceipiemonte; Gianmarco Giorda, Director General of ANFIA; and representatives from Confindustria Piemonte, the Polytechnic University of Turin, CNA, and API.
“This mission to Michigan,” emphasize Regional President Alberto Cirio and Minister Tronzano, “comes at a delicate time for the automotive sector and for economic relations with the United States. It also marks the international debut of Vehicle Valley Piemonte—a network that highlights the alliance between businesses, institutions, and research. It’s a clear signal that we know how to work together and look toward the future with ambition, taking the best of our industrial system abroad.”
Piedmont’s participation in VTM Michigan is coordinated by Ceipiemonte as part of the Region of Piedmont’s “Automotive & Transportation” integrated supply chain project, funded through the 2021–2027 ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).
Among the mission’s key moments is tomorrow morning’s event, April 23, which will feature a presentation on the “Piedmont Automotive Ecosystem” and the fifth edition of VTM Torino, scheduled for March 24–25, 2026.
Later that same day, the institutional delegation will meet with executives from MEDC (Michigan Economic Development Corporation) and MichAuto (an initiative of the Detroit Regional Chamber that promotes Michigan’s auto industry) at the Piedmont booth. In the afternoon, meetings are scheduled at General Motors’ headquarters, followed by visits to Mullen and Mayco.
On the morning of April 24, further meetings will take place at the offices of major local and international manufacturers, including Toyota North America and Ford.
Joining the institutional delegation are six companies from Piedmont: Aizoon, Drivesec, Dumarey, General Cab, Italdesign, and Mec. A full schedule of meetings with top-tier international institutions and companies is planned, along with a rich calendar of technical conferences and thematic workshops.
