PITTURA”, an exhibition of works by Italian painter Pino Pinelli is on view at De Buck Gallery, New York. “PITTURA” features 10 site-specific artworks by Pinelli. Through the innovative use of materials and formal experiments, the artist’s works explore the essence of painting itself. Pinelli’s practice consists of mixed-media geometric forms that mimic outlines or geometric trails.
His paintings cannot be categorized without surrounding themselves with the informed work where the walls become part of the experience and artworks itself. The artist constantly challenges the traditional conception of painting and enhances the ever-developing dialogue between art and life itself. Pino Pinelli has created a unique artform that cannot comfortably be categorized and yet serves as a powerful minimalist statement.
