Portillo’s continues its Hoosier expansion with the grand opening of its third Central Indiana location. The restaurant known for Italian beef, Chicago-style hot dogs and some serious slices of chocolate cake now has a home at 10444 E. US Hwy. 36 in Avon. It sits on the site of an former Sears hardware store near Ronald Reagan Parkway and U.S. 36.
The Avon location joins four other restaurants in the state of Indiana, including southern Indianapolis, Fishers, Mishawaka and South Bend. Officials said the Avon opening now makes Indiana the largest market for Portillo’s outside of Chicagoland.
