
In 2022, Prosciutto San Daniele PDO was confirmed as one of the most purchased and consumed Italian cured meat of excellence, both in Italy and abroad. Production amounted to 2,670,000 hams (+1.5% over 2021).
Pork legs sent for processing – originating from 3,579 farms located in Central-Northern Italy – were delivered from 41 slaughterhouses to 31 production plants that are members of the Consortium, all in the municipality of San Daniele del Friuli. The export share currently amounts to 17 percent of the total production of Prosciutto San Daniele PDO.
