Aspiring chefs can now make their dream come true sooner. Retail chain Metro Italia has just introduced in Italy "Culinary Agents, " the first online recruiting platform dedicated to the HORECA sector (hotel-restaurant-catering), covering the entire supply chain of accommodation and food services.
Born two years ago in the US, the startup founded by Alice Cheng has grown to become a network that counts – in the US alone – 70,000 professionals and 50% of the starred chefs. How does it work? The mechanism is hybrid, a cross between those of professional social networks and employment agencies, with a higher degree of precision compared to both.
