Italy stands at a crossroads in its job market. Between now and 2029, the country will have to fill between 3.3 and 3.7 million positions requiring skilled professionals and technicians. This demand is partly fueled by the full application of national recovery efforts - pushing the need for new experts even further.
Education and training requirements are varied. Roughly 37 to 39 % of these future roles will call for tertiary qualifications - this includes university degrees, ITS academy credentials, and artistic or musical credentials. Meanwhile, another 45 to 46 % of jobs will require technical secondary education - think vocational diplomas. A small share - about 4 % - will only need a general high school diploma.
