The 19-year-old landed in Rome today and will undergo his medical tests with Roma in the coming hours. He had been linked with a move to Juventus and Benevento and is the eight US player to move to Italy.
The first one was the midfielder Armando Frigo who was born in Clinton, Indiana. He also had an Italian passport and played for Vicenza, Fiorentina and Spezia between 1939 and 1942. Alexi Lalas joined Padova in the summer of 1994 and played 44 Serie A games, scoring two goals over two seasons. He was the second US player to move to Italy.
