Several months ago, our lodge supported the Clovis Centennial Committee by donating toward their effort of planting oak trees along the Clovis Heritage Trail. For us "old-timers", the trail follows the right-of-way for the Southern Pacific Railroad that, at one time, was a link to the rest of California's railway system.
The Centennial Committee has now planted the sponsored trees, and has placed plaques in front of them (see the photo). "Our" Century Oak is located almost directly in front of what was once the office of the Italian Swiss Colony Winery, on the East side of the trail. As a lodge, we are proud of being a part of this community effort in improving our local surroundings.
