Psalms, songs and canticles of the Italian Baroque A short, delicious concert of Italian music, followed by an equally delectable reception, introducing SFBC's new Artistic Director Magen Solomon. This season's opening performance highlights glorious but infrequently performed works, including Catholic and Jewish psalm settings by Monteverdi and Salamone Rossi, Durante's Magnificat, and Alessandro Scarlatti's Salve Regina accompanied by the bright and distinctive color of violins and continuo.
Join us in welcoming Dr. Solomon at a festive post-concert reception immediately following the performance. "Solomon's feel for programming is superb." Maggee VanSpeybroeck, San Francisco Classical Voice Order by October 1st for best discounts!
