Chris Evans, aka Captain American, has been elected the sexiest man alive by People Magazine. Evans, of Italian descent through his maternal side, joked about how his mother Lisa Capuano would react to the news: "My mom will be so happy," he said to People. "She's proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about."

Born and raised in Boston, he moved to Los Angeles at 19. Acting is kind of a family thing: his mother is an artistic director at the Concord Youth Theater, and his younger brother Scott has played in TV shows. When she was given the news, Lisa Capuano definitely met Chris' expectations: "My reaction was, 'yeah, of course, it's about time!'' she told 7NEWS Boston yesterday. "Chris is always amazed at his own success, he's amazed at what people think of him,'" she said.
