The first thing that visitors notice as they walk up the red carpeted steps at The Corinthian in downtown Houston where a traveling Sistine Chapel exhibit is at the back of the venue. A huge, magnified version of Michelangelo's crowning depiction of The Last Judgment pops out at the viewers from a few hundred feet away. The tangled mess of angels and demons summons the eyes forward.
Boyd Bryan, director of The Corinthian said this weekend that The Last Judgment is his favorite part of the exhibit, which touched down in Houston earlier this summer. The Corinthian is usually reserved for weddings and special events. It's hard to imagine the Sistine Chapel anywhere else in town though.
