Sipping wine during a lazy lunch at a vineyard on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, I couldn't stop the phrase "la dolce vita'' from springing to mind. Just a few days in Italy had given me a taste of that sweet life we've all heard about – and I was loving it.
I had flown from Manchester on a grey, drizzly afternoon – even by the UK's standards – and landed just a few hours later in the relative paradise of Naples, the air warm and filled with the promise of a beautiful sunset.
