As a means to further and expand the mission of St. Padre Pio and the newly founded St. Pio of Pietrelcina Society, Vincent Demonte, Stefano Sena and Maria Buonsante, owners of Bocelli Ristorante, hosted "Cooking with Chef Stefano."
It was a festive affair, where down-home Italian specialties were prepared in grand fashion before diners at the Grasmere dining spot. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefited the society's ministries.
What's more, not only did they serve up a sumptuous dinner that brimmed with some 80 discerning foodies, at the same time they contributed $5,075 to the new society that promotes the teachings of Padre Pio, the humble priest who hailed from Pietrelcina, Benevento, Italy, and was canonized a saint by Pope John Paul II on June 16, 2002 — and supports his ministries within the community.
