A travel advisory was issued by the U.S. State Department on Tuesday, instructing Americans to exercise caution if traveling to Italy. The 'Level 2' advisory is in response to a recent outbreak of the coronavirus, as well as ongoing risks from terrorist organizations.
Italy has reported multiple cases of coronavirus and Italian officials are working to identify how and where those folks were infected, according to the State Department. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) does not recommend canceling or postponing travel to Italy, however, the State Department advises older adults and anyone with chronic medical conditions to consider postponing non-essential travel.
