Get a taste of Italy with Kathy Occhipinti in her presentation, “Sicily & Wine throughout the Ages” at Chillicothe Public Library on Sept. 14. Attendees will discover the ancient grape varieties in the Sicilian provinces of Agrigento and Messina that are revolutionizing the way Sicilian wine is viewed throughout the world, and learn about the wine that Julius Caesar made famous – now available again to modern palates.
A wine-tasting is included in this free program. Dr. Occhipinti is a radiologist of Italian-American descent and author of Conversational Italian for Travelers. She has been leading Italian language groups in the Peoria and Chicago areas for 10 years, focusing on methods that make learning Italian as a second language easy and enjoyable. The program will take place Thursday, Sept. 14, at 6:30 p.m., at Chillicothe Public Library, 430 N. Bradley Ave., Chillicothe, IL 61523. Free and open to the public, ages 21 and up. Registration is requested by Sept. 11. For more information, please visit chillipld.org or call 309-274-2719.
