Montedoro, tells the story of an American woman who unexpectedly discovers her Italian ancestry after her parents died. Deeply moved, she travels to a remote place in the south of Italy in search of her birth mother whom she has never known. There she finds an abandoned village and, thanks to a casual meeting with a few mysterious inhabitants, undergoes a fascinating and magical voyage through time and memory, rejoining the specters of a past that belongs to her, that is part of her family story and part of an ancient and mysterious community. A Q&A will follow the screening, with the director and Pia Maria Mann, protagonist of the film. Moderated by Anthony Julian Tamburri, dean of the Calandra Institute.
