Tre Nonne Italian Restaurant has opened at 177 Jonestown Road in the location of a former Jersey Mike's in Summit Station shopping center. Tre Nonne, which means "Three Grandmothers," is owned by Tony and Alice Maresca — who are husband and wife — and Tony's sister, Debby Maresca.
All three are natives of Brooklyn, N.Y., born into Italian-American families. Tre Nonne pays tribute to three of the owners' grandmothers who influenced their love of food and cooking. "Each grandmother came from Italy and had their own unique style of cooking," Tony Maresca said.
