Danilo Rea (piano), Enzo Pietropaoli (double bass), and Fabrizio Sferra(drums) make up jazz trio Doctor 3, the three-time winner of Musica Jazz's Best Italian Jazz Group of the Year. Their daring improvisations and reimagined compositions are influenced by artists ranging from the Beatles to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Righteous Brothers to Sting, and Domenico Modugno to Tom Waits.
This program is part of Unexpected Italy, the Festival organized by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC and the Italian Cultural Institute.
