Long-time Staten Islanders likely have many memories of fabulous celebrations at the former Monte Bianco, Grant City. From weddings to proms to political and community events, the popular catering hall was the setting for myriad family and corporate events.
Previously the Boulevard Hotel, the Monte Bianco was owned and operated by the Campitiello family -- synonymous on Staten Island with fine dining for decades. The Boulevard Hotel was purchased by Filomena and Gerard Campitiello in 1980. The couple opened the Monte Bianco in 1982, while still operating the Alps Restaurant, the New Dorp restaurant that offered a northern French-Italian menu, from 1975 to 1984.
