Word broke a week or so ago that Forli restaurant in Alamo was closing, with the owners making way for another Italian restaurant that was bringing in an accomplished chef, this according to SF Eater. Well, I was able to track down one of the new owners, who gave me some details.
David Waitrovich is opening the restaurant with friend and fellow Alamo resident and financial advisor Robert Gallo, and said the two are planning a rustic but sophisticated Italian concept with food that features top-quality local "farm-to-table" ingredients. It'll be called Izzy's Place, named after Gallo's father, and the menu will feature house-made pasta, bread, and Neapolitan-style pizza.
