When it comes to saving money, not all regions of Italy are created equal. A recent report analyzing household savings across the country has revealed a clear divide between northern and southern provinces, with some areas managing to put aside more than double the national average.
The data, compiled by an Italian think tank, paints a detailed picture of how families across Italy are handling their finances. Leading the list is Monza and Brianza, a province in Lombardy where average household savings reach €9,473 per year. That’s nearly twice as much as the national average, which stands at just under €5,000.
