Choosing a university degree isn’t just about pursuing your passions - it’s also about understanding how different fields translate into earning potential once you enter the job market. University graduates in Italy don’t all earn the same, and earning trajectories can vary drastically depending on your chosen discipline, the pace of innovation in your sector, and the attractiveness of your skills to employers.
At the top of the pay scale are degrees in STEM - that’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Chemical and materials engineering lead the pack, followed closely by nuclear engineering. In third place are mechanical, naval, aeronautical, and aerospace engineering. These fields are highly sought after because they equip professionals with technical, digital, and specialized skills.
