The Delaware Italian American Education Association was awarded a $3,000 grant to support the Italian Language Summer Camp from the UNICO Foundation Heritage and Culture Committee. This exceptional opportunity to experience the Italian language, food, music, art and more is provided each year to youngsters ages 4-14 from the Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas.
Supported for more than 15 years by the State of Delaware via the Delaware Commission on Italian Heritage and Culture and the DIAEA, it was initially conceived and named after former Commissioner Justine Mataleno (La Piazza di Giustina) and created and directed by the professor emeritus of Italian and Cinema from the University of Delaware, Dr. Gabriella Finizio.
