Natalia QuintavalleThe consul general of Italy in New York will give a lecture on the opportunities and challenges of the Italian presidency of the European Union, Tues., March 25, 6 p.m. at The Rotunda of Walsh Library. The lecture by Natalia Quintavalle, sponsored by The Alberto Institute of Italian Studies and the School of Diplomacy, comes as the Italian prime minister prepares to assume the presidency of the E.U. in July.
"The lecture is very relevant to students, especially those studying international relations, to learn how the European Union works," said institute director Gabriella Romani. "They can learn the mechanisms and power position, or lack thereof, of the E.U. presidency."
