
The Dante Alighieri Society of Pueblo's 36th annual scholarship awards celebration featured presentations in Italian by each scholarship winner, followed by the Little Italy Buffet and an array of Italian-themed desserts.
Richard and Helen Harris were honored as Persons of the Year for their dedication to the organization. Six high school seniors received $1,000 scholarships: Bailey Trevithick and Julio Gonzalez, Central; Keila Estrada Guirant, South; Joseph Gavato and Lluvia Rodriguez, Centennial; and Blair Little, East. Oriana Tagliabue from Como, Italy, addressed the group and described her study abroad experience at Central High School.
