A sector that is growing in both business volume and its foothold in the U.S. market, with an increasingly significant presence at the major global aerospace events. Italian is widely spoken in Colorado during the days of the Space Symposium, the main meeting point for the global space community. The event brings together over 10,000 professionals, business leaders, and decision-makers in the field.

Among them is a delegation of 31 Italian companies active in "space tech," led by the Italian Trade Agency for the promotion of Italian businesses abroad and the Italian Space Agency (ASI). This marks the conclusion of a busy quarter full of strategically important events, including SpaceCom in Orlando (Florida) in January and the Satellite Conference & Exhibition in Washington D.C. in March.

Twelve of the Italian companies present in Colorado Springs are located within the Italian Pavilion, organized by the Italian Trade Agency Office in Houston in collaboration with ASI. "Space Italy" at the Space Symposium includes two lounge areas dedicated to business meetings and a dedicated meeting room. Several events have been organized to connect the Italian delegation.

On April 7, a "field day" was held, organized by Metro Denver (the Colorado Economic Development Office) and the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce. This allowed some of the Italian companies attending the Symposium to make direct contact with the local economic ecosystem. During the Symposium, the Italian Pavilion also hosts meetings between the Embassy, Italian institutions, and international entities. In particular, on April 9, two networking events are scheduled, involving Italian companies organized by Italian regional and government delegations, with representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Office for Space and Aerospace Policies (UPSA).

Created in 1984 by the Space Foundation, Space Symposium brings together over 10,000 professionals, business leaders, and decision-makers from more than 40 countries to forge partnerships and discover the latest technological innovations in the space sector. The event includes space agencies, commercial companies, military organizations, government entities, research centers, educational institutions, and entrepreneurs.

But it's not just the Colorado Space Symposium. This is a strategic quarter for the Italian aerospace industry in the United States, with the close timing of some of the most important events in the sector. In late January, SpaceCom in Orlando, Florida, brought together the entire space ecosystem, including major U.S. government sectors, from NASA to the Department of Defense, and the Space Force. Italy, with ICE and ASI, participated with a selection of 9 leading companies from the national aerospace scene.

On February 26 and 27, ASCENDxTexas took place in League City, Texas. This summit, organized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)—which also includes ICE—gathered the space community to share innovative strategies and opportunities in the global market.

Finally, one of the most important events of the year for the sector, the Satellite Conference & Exhibition in Washington D.C., from March 10 to 13, brought together all industries utilizing satellite technology in its various forms, from telecommunications to defense, as well as healthcare and automotive, among others.
