Chris R. Vaccaro, the director of graduate journalism and an associate adjunct professor at The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication, has penned a new journalism textbook emphasizing strategic storytelling. Focusing on how the modern newsroom operates, News Writing and Reporting: A Strategic Approach to Storytelling (Sage Publications) prepares students to become successful journalists in today’s competitive news industry.
“I have been fortunate to experience journalism from various fronts, either as a reporter and producer to an executive running large outlets,” Vaccaro said. “All of that is what helped create this book. My sole focus is on making an impact on the next generation. Hopefully, this is a tool that will benefit student journalists for years to come.”
