Join us to celebrate V. Sattui's Italian heritage at our 20th Annual Festa Italiana on Saturday, July 25th from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Our 2 ½ acre picnic grove transforms into a traditional Italian summer festival, with live music, dancing and, of course, your favorite V. Sattui wines. Tickets are now available at www.VSattui.com and cost $89 per member, $109 for non-members.
This party is reminiscent of an outdoor feast straight from the villages of Toscana and Lombardia. Long, family-style tables set the stage for a social, fun evening of sharing authentic Italian foods while serenaded by Nino L'Italiano, a talented group of musicians who are well-known for their unique and lively style of modern-day Italian music.
We are lucky to have a local icon, Angelo Ibletto, return each year to this event and cook his slow-roasted wild boar. Our Executive Chef, Gerardo Sainato and his team fill large platters with delicious house made pastas and sauces, and garden fresh salads- all served family style.
This year the party becomes even more authentic, as we welcome Chef Stefano Masanti, Executive Chef and Owner of Il Cantenone in Madesimo, in the Italian Alps. Chef Stefano is spending his off-season at V. Sattui as our Resident Special Events Chef. He has earned a Michelin Star, and Il Cantinone was named Restaurant of the Year in 2014 by Gambero Rosso, a well-respected Italian food and wine magazine. Stefano has also been awarded Best Italian Artisan Chef by the Italian Culinary Congress, and Chef of the Year by the Touring Club Italiano (similar to AAA in our country). Stefano will create many culinary surprises for our guests, guaranteed to be handmade with local ingredients, and memorable.
V. Sattui Winery is an iconic wine tasting stop in the Napa Valley with strong Italian roots. The winery was originally founded in San Francisco in 1885 by Italian immigrant Vittorio Sattui. He was successful, until he had to close the winery due to prohibition. In 1976, his great grandson, Dario Sattui resurrected the winery in St. Helena, the heart of Napa Valley. From day 1 Dario has embraced the Italian values of opening his winery to everyone- offering a delicious selection of foods in our Italian Marketplace and Deli, one of the only spots in the Napa Valley where wine tasters can picnic, and a large portfolio of award-winning wines to accommodate a wide range of palates.
