Tosca Cafe, the historic Italian-American restaurant and bar in North Beach, is reopening this weekend. The latest repolishing of this classic spot has been anticipated for more than a year, ever since the powerhouse trio of chef Nancy Oakes (Boulevard), restaurateur Anna Weinburg (Marlowe), and designer Ken Fulk took the keys last year.
Despite setbacks — like the city shutting down dining rooms this weekend — it’s finally happening: The 101-year-old restaurant is back, and the Tuscan fried chicken, shaved truffle pasta, and cappuccino cocktails just might cut through the winter fog. The opening menu is short and sweet, offering three set courses for $75, with options to add on from the raw bar.
