It has been ages since I’ve visited Isabella’s, a fixture in Redlands for more than three decades. Not much has changed — same classic décor with lots of brick, faux greenery, maroon walls and ceiling. We were even waited on by Tammi, a server par excellence and one of the original staff.
Owners Ruthie and Martin Felix are still there, where she runs the front of the house and Martin continues to dish out a wide selection of Italian classics. Pretty much only the prices have changed. Given two long years of the pandemic, I’m not surprised that food costs have shot up. That said, the quality of the food has not suffered in the least. All entrees include soup or salad and portions are very generous.
