Pastiamo will soon bring fresh pasta to San Diego's Hillcrest community, expanding its footprint from its original North Pacific Beach site. The new location of Pastiamo joins the portfolio of owners Sara Pedrazzini and her husband, Christian Erbisti, who also operate Oltre Mare Italian Restaurant in Pacific Beach, further solidifying their presence in the city’s dining scene with their heartfelt approach to Italian cuisine.
The couple relocated to San Diego from Italy in 2015, initially to visit Sara's brother, who then offered to sell them his restaurant. Despite lacking a background in the restaurant industry - Sara studied mathematics, and Christian was a builder - they embraced the challenge, moving to the U.S. with their two young sons, aged 4 and 7 at the time.
