A third retail shop will be having its grand opening for Liscio's Italian Bakery & Deli with a special appearance from perhaps the best mascot in baseball. The 21,240-square-foot building for baking, storage and sales is to be host an official grand opening April 26 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
While there will be games, food, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and more, Liscio's Bakery is also to feature an appearance by the Phillie Phanatic. According to a Liscio's history, the bakery was founded in January 1994 by James Liscio, who had worked in the baking business for 14 years. He and his wife opened it, along with his mother, brother and grandmother, in February 1994.
